Pracky Hour (Open driving range)

  • Stick and Feather 3851 Steele Street Denver, CO, 80205 United States (map)

Driving ranges are fun, but…

  • It’s hot or it’s windy or there’s a thunderstorm every day right when the last work call of the day ends

  • It can be crowded, and waiting in line to hit balls is the worst

  • Sometimes there is grass, and sometimes there is just dirt

  • There is no data around distance, proximity, dispersion, launch angle, spin, or… anything else

  • No visual feedback for ball contact, swing path, or face angle

  • And of course, range balls suck

What is Pracky Hour?

Pracky Hour is our take on what a driving range can look like at an indoor Golf Simulator.  You get to practice whatever you want to work on - Driving, chipping, wedges, flop shots, etc - but with high quality data and visual feedback after every shot.  This is a much higher quality practice as a result, and it’s more affordable than using a simulator on your own.

How does it work?

Each weekday, S&F will make between 3-5 of our bays available for Pracky Hour.  These bays will be shared with other Pracky Hour attendees, with no more than 3 people per bay.  When sharing, players will trade off every few shots.  If there are 5 bays available and only 5 people, each can practice in their own bay.  Attendees can stay for as short or as long as they like within the 3-6pm Pracky Hour window.  You can pay per day, either ahead of time or by dropping in, and can also sign up for a Pracky Hour Membership.

Why practice at S&F instead of the Driving Range?

There is a lot you can work on at Stick & Feather that you just can’t at a normal driving range.  For one, you can see a replay of every single swing you make, giving you insight into your path, low point, and where on the face you are striking it.  Second, you get precise distances for each shot, and proximity to your target, and can see what your averages are in aggregate.  Third, you can track these things over time and measure progress.  Lastly,  you can meet other people that are practicing similar things and talk about different feels or tips that may help your game.

How can I get the most out of Pracky Hour?

  1. Come often, and stay for as long as you can

  2. Pick a few things to work on, and ask for advice on how to best practice those things on the sim

  3. Ask our staff for the Club Head stickers, which provide more and better data

  4. Keep track of your stats from each session

  5. Try the chipping and putting range

  6. Try On Course practice

  7. Try the full bag ‘Skills Test’

  8. Talk to the other golf nerds around you about what they are working on!
